Step into the flowered courtyard of our traditional Cretan home and let us take you on a journey through our family's heritage. Using our old wood-fired oven—the true heart of Cretan kitchens for centuries—we'll cook together just like our grandmothers used to.
Our recipes are the same ones we enjoy every day: simple, authentic, and always centered around 'Cretan gold' (our olive oil) and seasonal veggies.
A Note for our Green Friends: Cretan cuisine is almost vegetarian! This makes our kitchen a welcoming place for everyone—whether you are vegetarian, vegan, or just a lover of fresh greens. We focus on what the earth gives us, so no one ever leaves our table hungry.
And finally, the best part: We'll sit around the big wooden table to enjoy our meal together, sharing stories and a glass of local wine.
Approximately 4 hours of cooking, learning, and feasting
5:30 PM
Your journey begins as if you’re visiting old friends. We welcome you with refreshing homemade lemonade or aromatic Cretan herbal tea, paired with our hand-folded kallitsounia—traditional pies made with our own artisan cheese and local honey. To help you feel at home, we’ll guide you through our space—a house filled with vintage treasures and local history. It’s the perfect time to chat, exchange stories, and embrace the slow pace of Cretan life before our culinary adventure begins.

Roll up your sleeves! We'll prepare 5 traditional dishes together, learning techniques and stories behind each recipe. • homemade cheese with fresh sheep milk • tzatziki (famous Greek salad or dip) • moussaka or chaniotiko boureki (for our vegeterian quest) • gemista (vine leaves, zucchini flowers, tomatoes, zucchini, and pepper stuffed) • gouvarlakia avgolemono (meatballs with the famous egg-lemon sause) As we cook, we keep our energy up by tasting traditional "treats" straight from the kitchen: herb pies, onion pies, crispy fried potato skins.
